Anthony Joshua doubled down on his provocative remarks about being prepared to “kill” Jake Paul during a media gathering in Miami on Wednesday.

These statements were originally stated on Tuesday when the boxer was questioned if he would hold back against Paul, replying that “if I can kill you, I'll kill”.

The upcoming bout against the internet personality turned fighter has sparked debate over the risk involved and the size difference between the two competitors.

Fury Calls Joshua a “Classless Loser”

Ex- world heavyweight champion The Gypsy King labeled Joshua a “disgrace” for his inflammatory comments.

But Joshua, defended his mindset: “It's my job, we fight. We have a license that permits extreme violence.

“I'm sure many people don't comprehend it but this is what my job is. I love what I do. Whatever happens, happens - provided that my hand is held high, that's what's paramount, with all due respect.”

He added, “That's just the psychology we have to have as boxers. I'm unsure if other boxers think that way. Perhaps they're a bit more conservative. The way my mind works. When you're in the ring, it's a risky thing. Everything can happen.”

“You wish your adversary exits the ring safely, but if they don't, you still have to go to bed aware you just did your job. It was purely professional.”

Paul's Incendiary Response

Paul, a huge underdog in the fight as a career lighter fighter, was no less incendiary in his retort.

“This is a contemporary combat sport,” he stated. “I'm ready. I want his hardest punches. I want there to be no excuses when it's all said and done. Let's kill each other.”
